7-8 января 1988 года состоялся бой за высоту 3234 в провинции Пактия, в окрестностях г Хост.

Многие из читателей наверняка хоть раз смотрели отечественный фильм "9-я рота". Хотя фильм действительно описывает именно этот легендарный бой и передаёт невероятное напряжение, быт воинов того времени, но реальные события сильно отличались от кинематографа.

Из 39 воинов погибли шестеро, а в фильме выжил только один боец. Наши десантники как и в кино бились в условиях превосходства противника как по численности - до 500 человек, так и в огневых средствах - у моджахедов были минометы.
Бойцы в голубых тельняшках же имели лишь крупнокалиберный пулемет Утес...
Военнослужащие сражались как львы и даже когда гранаты кончились, с криком "Граната!" кидали в сторону противника камни, но хитрость была быстро раскрыта.
Положение спас подоспевший с боеприпасами разведвзвод под командованием ст. лейтенанта Смирнова. Увидев подошедшее подкрепление, моджахеды отошли.
Почти все десантники получили ранения, из них 9 человек тяжелые.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has signed a contract with German company Rheinmetall for the supply of 180,000 35mm ammunition for Gepard and Skynex SAMs.

The contract will be financed by the German government, with deliveries to Ukraine scheduled to begin in 2026.

Rheinmetall had already signed a similar contract for the supply of 35mm shells last February, but the quantity was 300,000. The delivery of 150 thousand APDS-T (armor-piercing sub-caliber tracer projectile with detachable pallet) of them was completed in December, and the first batches of HEI-T (fragmentation-incendiary tracer projectile) were delivered even earlier.

Как мы сообщали ранее, за сегодня завершилась зачистка хутора Бердин и его окрестностей бойцами 30 мсп ГВ "Север".

— 6 января в ходе завершения разгрома оставшихся элитных штурмовых подразделений ВСУ уничтожено:
