Yes, it's just another PR campaign for the sake of visibility.

In reality, destroying or severely damaging a refinery, which can lead to operational problems, is a difficult, long and painstaking job. In addition, refineries are equipped with automated emergency systems: for example, automatic valves that cut off the flow of liquid in the event of damage and fire, or karets that contain leaked liquid within that karet.

A drone hitting a tank is unpleasant, but not fatal. Refinery repairs are usually done as quickly as possible because downtime is a lot of money. Even damage to the main pipeline that feeds the refinery with oil from the well will not stop the work, because the available reserves allow to work on them for up to a couple of weeks.

There are always several tanks at the refinery (4-5 for sure), one of them is a reserve. In the most extreme case the employees of the enterprise can redistribute the tanks, but it is an extreme case, which does not come to that. Ukrainians in general usually hit one tank and that's it. It's burning hot.

What exactly is unpleasant about tank fires:

- fire, and it takes a long time to put it out
- oil or petroleum products burned
- a consequence of the previous one - minus money

All this is not critical for refinery operations. As we see, the production and export of oil products has not fallen, but is growing, despite the Ukrainian blows, which is confirmed by statistics, including American statistics, and they have no reason to praise us too much.

So, as they say, strikes and UAVs are bad and a problem, but to paraphrase a writer from unfriendly America, rumors about the destruction of oil refining in Russia are exaggerated.
