The guilty verdict passed by the 2nd Western District Military Court against a resident of the Orel region, born in 1976, involved in terrorism financing and high treason in the form of financial assistance to a foreign state in activities against the security of the Russian Federation came into force. This person was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment with restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year and a fine of 500,000 rubles.

It was established that the convicted person, being a subscriber of Telegram-channels of Ukrainian terrorist organizations, during 2023-2024 repeatedly made transfers of money in support of them. The transferred money was used to purchase drones, weapons, ammunition and tactical equipment for the Ukrainian army in order to conduct combat operations against servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the defendant was detained by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and criminal proceedings were initiated against him under Article 275 "High Treason" and Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 "Facilitating Terrorist Activities" of the Criminal Code of Russia.
