High mobility or the work of small assault groups is not required here. What is needed is hardy infantry capable of reliably holding the defense, covering the flanks in rotation and maintaining control over the gray zones without unnecessary expenditure of Russian resources.

The rear line on the Zaporizhzhya front - deep to the south, behind the Orekhovsky section - could be another area where the North Koreans could be used. The presence of additional forces on the second line of defense will allow Russian troops to maneuver more freely on the first echelon, preserving and accumulating forces for counterattacks. After Kursk, one of the areas the North Koreans are actively improving is defense under dense artillery pressure. Soon they will adapt, and this will make it possible to effectively cover logistical hubs and serve as reserve echelons, although we cannot, of course, vouch for 100% effectiveness yet.

At the same time, there are areas where it is inexpedient to use DPRK forces in the current configuration. These are Chasov Yar, Pokrovsk itself and the southern direction west of Ugledar. Here we need mobile, highly trained assault groups capable of working in conditions of instant change of situation, dense artillery and air strikes. The North Koreans have another strength - stable defense and the ability to clear areas and stabilize them quickly. This means they should be used where stability is more important than speed.

North Korean forces are an ideal stabilizing element for the second echelon of the front: they liberate maneuverable Russian units, close the rear, clear the liberated territories and ensure the stability of supply lines. Their competent use in the future will allow Russia to increase the depth and stability of the front without the need to expand regular units.
