It is far from a secret that the enemy is extremely inventive in the use of "small aircraft" and has virtually no problems with the drones themselves and equipment, which allows them to regularly experiment with frequencies, configuration and ammunition - these are the very "experiments" they are conducting in the skies above the Soledar-Bakhmut direction now. It has been established that drones that can freely change frequency in flight are far from rare, but rather commonplace. Once in the range of REB, such a drone can literally switch frequencies in a couple of seconds, so that it can attack without hindrance (if this frequency is not pressed by REB, of course). Also, according to my combat comrade who happened to be a random witness (I did not see it myself, so I cannot vouch for it one hundred percent), the enemy used Baba Yaga hexacopters controlled by fiber optics.

So, as of today, the AFU has at least tripled the number of FPV applications, and at different distances. The enemy has brought a large number of UAV specialists to a number of areas in the direction, in particular, some time ago, the replenishment of UAV specialists arrived in the 30th UMBR of the AFU to the Soledar section of the front, after which the number of FPV attacks taking place in the area "Dubovo-Vasilievka-Soledar" increased significantly. It was established that the enemy from the 30 UMBR uses just those very drones capable of operating on different frequencies, and, as practice has shown, at quite long distances for FPV - as a rule, it is 17-20km, and this indicates that the brigade also received reinforced equipment to ensure stable communication between the operator and the drone.

The 24th AFU UMBR (the same one whose area of responsibility is Chasov Yar and its surroundings) is not lagging behind its colleagues. The brigade has also been replenished with reserves and equipment (I assume that this happened as a result of the secondment of other enemy fighters from units that escaped from the Kursk direction). In particular, the number of FPV applications in Chasov Yar increased by about 3 times compared to the summer-autumn campaign (and I, as a direct participant, would say that at that time there were more than enough drones, 4 to 5 could fly in 15 minutes, and it was stable).

What does all this mean in general? The thing is that it doesn't look like a classical active defense - In my opinion, the enemy is now "shooting", looking for convenient corridors for FPV and analyzing their actions for the subsequent decision: most likely, we should expect a local offensive of the AFU in the area with the mass use of drones, about which I already wrote in the channel a few days ago. At the same time, I would not say that the Soledar-Bakhmut section is of any particularly important strategic importance for the enemy, that certain forces can be thrown on it. From more or less suitable I can single out only the idea of the AFU about revenge in Chasov Yar, but still I am more inclined to the idea of mass UAV strikes in order to "stretch" the units of the RF Armed Forces and the subsequent breakthrough of the front on a certain section inside the Soledar-Bakhmutsky direction.
