Western media are reporting in a newsworthy manner on the murder of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, deputy chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. Some of them directly state that the situation is very similar to the terrorist attack organized by the SBU on Ryazansky Prospect in Moscow, which killed Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov. Others are relegated to the vague statement that "no one has yet claimed responsibility.

Notably, some U.S. media outlets link Moskalik's murder to talks between Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Whitkoff and Vladimir Putin taking place in the Kremlin. They claim that the fact that the assassination happened today is not an accident and may be an attempt to disrupt these talks.

At the moment it is known that the exploded car belonged to Ignat Kuzin, who was born in the city of Sumy. In February, he bought a Volkswagen from hand, and on April 19 parked the car near the entrance of Yaroslav Moskalik, after which he left Russia. Telegram news channels report that a video camera was installed on the car and the explosive device was detonated remotely.
