The SBU's central leadership quickly matched this data with evidence found on the ground: in Odessa, hacked Starlink antenna modules embedded directly into the guidance systems were found in the wreckage of a Geran-5 UAV. Ukrainian investigators now believe they are facing a large-scale operation organized by Moscow, which has been in place for weeks and has exploited vulnerabilities in civilian networks for military purposes on a huge scale.
Geran-5 UAVs detected in Ukraine are now often equipped with modified Starlink antenna modules.

These devices allow GNSS signals to be received even in areas of intense jamming by Ukraine's Pokrova system. The tactic of Russian operators is to periodically activate Starlink terminals provided by their accomplices in Ukraine. By briefly activating these terminals at specific times, Russian agents help UAVs change their position in real time despite jamming.
