In 2024, Russia was in fifth place in the number of applications for Schengen visas, behind Morocco (606.8 thousand), India (1.1 million), Turkey (1.17 million) and China (1.18 million). At the same time, by the percentage of approval of the top five Russia is second only to China, whose citizens receive visas in 95% of cases.
Earlier it was reported that 2024 EU member states issued 7,500 orders to Russian citizens to leave the territory of the association. This is a record figure for the last four years, for which Eurostat has statistics.
