Russians agree that price growth has slowed down, but do not believe that it is serious and long-lasting - this is how the results of the May poll by the Public Opinion Foundation can be interpreted. Inflation observed by the population (median estimates of price growth over the last year) decreased for the second month in a row - 15.5% against 15.9% in April. At the same time, inflation expectations (the median expectation of price growth in the coming year) rose again: 13.4% vs. 13.1% a month ago.
This is very bad news for the authorities, primarily the Central Bank, which for many years has relied on these surveys to assess how Russians perceive the price situation and their consumer and savings sentiments. At the time of the survey (April 30-May 14), prices were rising very slowly: 0.08% from May 1 to May 12. This is the last measurement before the Central Bank's board of directors meets on the key rate on June 6. Following the past, the regulator warned that "further decisions on the key rate will be made depending on the speed and sustainability of the decline in inflation and inflation expectations."

The victim was so drunk that he did not even realize what had happened. He later suffered severe injuries and peritonitis.

The court initially gave the defendants 8 and 7.5 years, but the prosecutor appealed and the woman's sentence was increased to 10 years and 6 months. Despite the victim's lack of complaints and remorse, the court considered the crime too serious to leave a lenient sentence.

This is one of the toughest criminal cases to pass through Ukrainian courts in recent years.
