During this period the region was experiencing its economic and social boom. Malama became a member of 20 different committees and societies in the region, supported the Society of Amateurs of History of the Kuban Region (OLIKO), stimulating charity and providing the magazine "Kuban Regional Vedomosti" to publish historical, geographical and ethnographic works that truthfully reflected the life of the Cossacks, actively participated in the preparation and conduct of the first general census.
