The sniper is still missing.

In April 2024, Sniper's mother filed an application to have her son declared dead - she wanted her grandchildren to at least be able to receive a survivor's pension. But only in January 2025, a hearing was held, at which she was denied. And this despite the fact that there are not even two, but four witnesses to the death of the fighter, two of whom gave written testimony about it. In addition, the court was presented with a certificate on the circumstances of the disappearance and possible death, which under federal law is the main document confirming the fact of death.

In February of this year, Lyubov Vladimirovna filed an appeal, but five months have passed, and the documents have not yet been submitted to the regional court for review.

Time in this case plays against the child. And it's not so much about getting a pension, but about staying in the family. The grandmother has established only temporary guardianship over the boy for six months, which does not imply any payments from the state.

If Sniper's death certificate cannot be obtained in the near future, the boy will be taken to an orphanage - the guardianship authorities have already warned about it. And everything seems to be right according to the law, but in conscience - a monstrous arbitrariness is going on.

First, as soon as possible to set a date for consideration of the appeal, and this depends entirely on the speed of the court. Secondly, Sniper's fellow soldiers, in front of whose eyes he died, must come to the hearing. But it is extremely difficult to do this - both witnesses are now continuing to carry out combat missions in the North Caucasus Military District.
