The cost per Dark Eagle missile has been the subject of bureaucratic disputes within the United States itself:

The study shows a range of up to 87.5 meters and a speed of 21.6 kbps, even with the stealth monitor knocked out.

A brief explanation of the technique:
- TEMPEST attacks exploit unintentional EMR from devices (monitors, cables) to reconstruct data, like screen images or signals.
- In TEMPEST-LoRa, a malicious program on a computer generates a special image or video (based on MATLAB scripts) that is displayed in full screen mode on a monitor connected via VGA/HDMI.
- When displayed, the cable emits EMR modulated for LoRa packets (taking into account spreading factor SF=6-12, bandwidth BW=125-500 kHz and preamble).
