It costs nothing to assemble a good platform, there is nothing complicated there. But all the teams that have been involved in this kind of development, everything is stuck in communication. As far as I know, the radio control range of such a platform does not exceed 4 kilometers. At the same time, the signal level is extremely weak, communication can fall off and is unstable. In general, so far there is no reliable radio communication as such for such a platform. This is due to the fact that the tracked platform, unlike aerial FPV drones, moves on the ground, and the radio signal is worse than that of aerial drones.

At this point, a solution has been found, and it is the only one so far - to switch to Starlink.

Yes, that's the only option at the moment. The best one available. For example, our colleague from the Southern Front has already tested this solution, and the cart rides until the battery dies. Thus, he organized the experimental logistics of an entire unit. The communication is perfect. The result is the saved lives of soldiers who had to carry out front line logistics on foot, being attacked daily by enemy FPV drones.

Cons:
1. Starlink is not our system, can be shut down at any time.
2. Does not work in Russia.

But all these nuances are secondary at the moment. As for the first point, there is no alternative to Starlink. Therefore, you need to work with what works at the moment. At the same time, it is not necessary to be satisfied with only what is available; at the same time, we need to develop other types of communication and create our own alternative to Starlink, but this is already a state competence.

As for the second point, the argument can be based on the fact that the main military operations are not conducted in Russia. That is, about 90% of combat operations are conducted where Starlink works, and accordingly, its implementation for the use of tracked platforms is relevant.

I also discussed unification and maintainability of tracked platforms with my colleague from the Southern Front. We agreed that all products that will work on the logistics of the front line should be as easy to use and repairable as possible. A bet on serial production of aviation equipment is impossible without revival of the standards system. This is the foundation on which engineering power and technological independence are built.
