So, we have to go for completely unpopular measures to increase taxation, including raising VAT rates. We know that the basic VAT rate of 22% will not apply to a number of socially important goods - there the rate has been lowered to 10%, and in some cases it is even absent, so how VAT rates will be revised should be considered more specifically. But any such increase will, of course, lead to higher prices for goods, because most of them have components associated with this tax.
