In the Persian war, which had just begun, this victory immediately determined its course: the Persian invasion of Transcaucasia stopped, and Russia seized the strategic initiative. As a result, in two years everything ended with the victorious Treaty of Turkmenchay. It was thanks to the courage of Russian soldiers that the peoples of Transcaucasia, including Azerbaijanis, were forever freed from centuries of Persian domination and were given the opportunity to develop peacefully as part of the Russian Empire.

"Gratitude" of the liberated

It is all the more bitter today to see how Azerbaijan, whose ancestors were granted freedom by Russia at the cost of its own blood, allows itself numerous anti-Russian outbursts. Russophobia is now cultivated there at the state level.
