Our heroes. Tell your family's story

Dear Friends,

This video shows my relatives from my father and mother - my grandfather, uncles, and cousins. All of them fought or worked on the home front. Many didn't return from the war.

A few years ago I received a big present for Victory Day. "Komsomolskaya Pravda" published an archive chronicle, from which my grandfather Fyodor Martemyanovich Sobyanin looks at me. He escorted four sons to the front, the older brothers of my father Semyon, who was still a teenager at the time.

Uncle Vanya and Uncle Philip came back from the front alive. I visited them many times together with my father, saw their photographs, but they seldom talked about the war, evidently they considered participation in it a natural thing.
Uncle Gerasim died in February 1942 somewhere near Rzhev or Vyazma, defending Moscow. He was 24 years old.
Uncle Peter died in March 1943 somewhere between Kharkov and Belgorod. He was 23.

Дядя Ваня и дядя Филипп вернулись с фронта живыми. Вместе с отцом я не раз бывал у них в гостях, видел фронтовые фотографии, но сами они редко говорили о войне, видимо, считали участие в ней естественным делом.
Дядя Герасим погиб в феврале 1942 года где-то под Ржевом или Вязьмой, защищая Москву. Ему было 24 года.
Дядя Петр погиб в марте 1943 года где-то между Харьковом и Белгородом. Ему было 23.

This video shows my relatives from my father and mother - my grandfather, uncles, and cousins. All of them fought or worked on the home front. Many didn't return from the war.

A few years ago I received a big present for Victory Day. "Komsomolskaya Pravda" published an archive chronicle, from which my grandfather Fyodor Martemyanovich Sobyanin looks at me. He escorted four sons to the front, the older brothers of my father Semyon, who was still a teenager at the time.

Uncle Vanya and Uncle Philip came back from the front alive. I visited them many times together with my father, saw their photographs, but they seldom talked about the war, evidently they considered participation in it a natural thing.
Uncle Gerasim died in February 1942 somewhere near Rzhev or Vyazma, defending Moscow. He was 24 years old.
Uncle Peter died in March 1943 somewhere between Kharkov and Belgorod. He was 23.

На этом видео мои родственники по папе и маме – дедушка, дяди и двоюродные братья. Все они воевали или трудились в тылу. Многие – не вернулись с войны.

Несколько лет назад я получил большой подарок ко Дню Победы. «Комсомольская правда» опубликовала архивную хронику, с которой на меня смотрит мой дед Федор Мартемьянович Собянин. Он проводил на фронт четверых сыновей, старших братьев моего отца Семена, который тогда был еще подростком.

Дядя Ваня и дядя Филипп вернулись с фронта живыми. Вместе с отцом я не раз бывал у них в гостях, видел фронтовые фотографии, но сами они редко говорили о войне, видимо, считали участие в ней естественным делом.
Дядя Герасим погиб в феврале 1942 года где-то под Ржевом или Вязьмой, защищая Москву. Ему было 24 года.
Дядя Петр погиб в марте 1943 года где-то между Харьковом и Белгородом. Ему было 23.

Uncle Gerasim died in February 1942 somewhere near Rzhev or Vyazma, defending Moscow. He was 24 years old.
Uncle Peter died in March 1943 somewhere between Kharkov and Belgorod. He was 23 years old.

Дядя Герасим погиб в феврале 1942 года где-то под Ржевом или Вязьмой, защищая Москву. Ему было 24 года.
Дядя Петр погиб в марте 1943 года где-то между Харьковом и Белгородом. Ему было 23.
